Skyla is an electronic arts network that embraces music, art, dance, drama, technology, creative writing, social action, and the human spirit. Founded in New York City by L.A. Kessler, its aim is to create solo and collaborative art and music that is politically and socially aware. We are an organization by and for artists who truly understand and share the ideology of using the arts to improve the human condition. Skyla Entertainment believes that artists play a large role in shaping their societies. TV, music, movies and art are among the best ways to shape cultural trends because they are mainly absorbed on the audiencešs time voluntarily. We recognize the influential power of the arts, and consciously strive to use our respective media to bring about good things in the world.
By hosting a virtual creative environment where socially conscious artists of all genres can share and learn from one another, Skyla offers a potentially valuable resource. We intend to publish an electronic newsletter in the near future, and are currently constructing a network via this website that will promote like-minded artists and thinkers across the country and internationally.

L.A. Kessler is a mixed-media composer, performer, and writer. She produces, directs and performs works in various mixed-media environments utilizing musicians, dancers, actors, artists and poets. She has been commissioned by the Ohio Arts Council and the Mannheim Holocaust Reunion Committee, and has performed her works throughout America and Europe. She is a member of the Music Therapy Association and Society for the Arts in Healthcare and has had past and ongoing collaborations with the International New Music Consortium, Interactive Performance Group, NYU New Music and Dance Ensemble, TOPA, Gallatin Interarts Collaboration and Gotham City Improv. She holds a Master of Music in Music Technology from New York University, and currently resides in New York City.
